THANK YOU, MALIBU!

After months of deliberation and many attempts to find a solution, it is with heart-wrenching emotion that we must report our program will not be operating this school season.

Coach John has volunteered for nearly 10 years as Head Coach and Team Manager. He spent uncountable hours supporting the Team and our community, finding ways to make the program work for any kid who wants to surf, but for many reasons the time has come for him to move on.  Coach John considers his years with the surf team (stoking a generation of kids to love the ocean and improve their surfing) his most fulfilling professional accomplishment so far.  

Coach Joe has been and always will be a stalwart and a beacon in the Malibu surfing community.  He is inspirational to all surfers, young and old, and he will continue in that capacity we are sure.  But he has bills to pay, he does not have the free time to run our organization, and our attempts to find sufficient support to keep the program going this season simply didn't pan out.

There are so many other people who helped make our Team what it was over the last decade, and we want to THANK all of you!!!  All the parent volunteers and local business sponsors that were involved.  You know who you are and we hope you take pride in your support of the Malibu Sharks Surf Team!!  And we Thank You wholeheartedly!!

To anyone who wants to step up and help lead any effort to keep the Team operating, Coach John and Coach Joe are happy to provide guidance.  You know how to reach us.
